About the Instructor
The process of Event Coordination includes budgeting, scheduling, site selection, coordination of speakers, catering, equipment, décor, working with sponsors, clients, contracts, logistics and overall implementation.
I have a deep passion working in this industry for over 17 years! I have been described as having an “eagle eye" attention to detail, exceptional skill at organization, support others to achieve team goals and have a high standard of excellence to present information in understandable terms.
As Event Administrator for the Province of Manitoba, our branch organizes over 300 offerings and events which include conventions, workshops, leadership and certificate programs for government employees. We partner with universities and organizations to bring training services together. I also have previous experience with non-profit organizations which held conventions across Canada and delivered orientations to volunteers preparing for overseas assignments. These job opportunities provided me with experience both in Canada and Pennsylvania. My work experience also includes many years in Provincial Judges' Chambers. I thoroughly enjoyed this work and the celebratory swearing-in ceremony events.
My university studies of general arts courses included psychology, sociology and philosophy. I also attended college for the Travel Consultant Diploma Program. I attended MTEC to receive my Event Coordination certification.
Teaching Event Coordination is incredibly fulfilling as we work through all the various key elements to fulfill learning objectives. I welcome you!
